Conceptual Case Study: MONA Redesign
The Museum of Neon Art (MONA) is a non-profit founded in 1981 in Downtown Los Angeles and is currently based in Glendale, CA. MONA’s exhibitions showcase neon artwork ranging from historical works to contemporary art. They also offer artist residencies and public engagement educational programs. MONA’s mission of education , community engagement, and historical preservation is key to its identity. Those core values ultimately served as the main source of inspiration for this rebranding exercise.
This project was a conceptual rebrand, and the identity created was separate and non-affiliated with any existing system previously developed for the museum.
